  • Monty Mullenix

    senior pastor

    Monty was born in middle Tennessee and grew up there. His family moved to central Indiana where he went to high school and college.  He graduated from Purdue University with B.S. degrees in Mathematics and Psychology. Monty received a Master of Divinity and M..A in Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Tx. Monty pastored a church in New Mexico when he felt the Lord calling him to pastor here at Salem Baptist Church.  


    Monty is married to Michelle, and they have three children: Josh and his wife Jocelyn who live in Woodbridge, Virginia where Jocelyn is stationed at Quantico. Their middle daughter Emily lives in McKinney, Texas and their youngest daughter Laura and her husband Brendan live in Bonham, Texas. Monty enjoys running and training for marathons. Michelle enjoys music and working with kids. They both enjoy investing in the lives of others. They have spent many hours remodeling and landscaping their homes in the past and enjoy their time working together on projects.

  • Terry Blackburn-Parker

    Minister of connection

    Terry began her work at Salem part-time in 1987 as Youth Pastor and full time in 1996 as Minister to Youth. In 2004, she became our Ministry Coordinator (now called Minister of Connections). She was previously a teacher with Stafford County and Fairfax County schools. She has a B.S. in Special Education from James Madison University with a minor in counseling and also a Masters of Education from George Mason University. Terry is passionate about missions and being Christ's hands and feet in our community. Her husband is Bill, sons Chris Blackburn (wife Kerry), Luke Blackburn (wife Angela), Brandon Blackburn, granddaughters, Scarlett and Hazel, and grandson Lincoln.

  • scot davis

    minister to families, children & youth

    Scot has been blessed to serve God through Youth and Children's Ministry for over 20 years. He strives to establish a ministry that is Bible-based, person-centered, and life-focused. A native of Roanoke, VA, Scot graduated from East Tennessee State University and received his Masters' degree in Christian Education from Midwestern Baptist Seminary in Kansas City, MO. He is married to Jenny and has 3 wonderful children--two boyish boys, Garrett and Spencer, and an adorable little girl, Meredith. Scot is passionate about all football (pee wee up through the NFL), but his favorite team-hands down- is the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoys basketball (Go Hokies and Heels!), and NASCAR (especially Hendrick Motorsports).

    Tim Joines is our 8:45 worship leader and Worship Media & Technology Leader.  He has a wife, Wanda and 4 boys, Jacob, Caleb, Destin and Logan. His family all contribute through their gifts and talents to the music ministry at Salem. He can be contacted at [email protected]
